DU Exams 2020: Delhi HC asks DU to speed up evaluation process of answer sheets

The Delhi High Court (HC) has asked Delhi University to speed up the process of evaluating the answer sheets for DU Exams 2020 so that the results can be declared as soon as possible, preferably in the first week of October, as per media reports.

DU has conducted the end term examinations for final semester students this year and the Delhi HC has asked the university to speed up the evaluation process so that the students can get their results and apply for a job/ seek higher education accordingly.

Though the court asked DU to declare the result by the first week of October, the varsity told the court it may not be possible to declare the results within the time frame; it had earlier said the results would be declared by October-end.

The university has also informed the court that 50 percent of the answer sheets that were uploaded through the exam portal has already been evaluated. The students had the option of uploading their answer sheets through the exam portal or sending them through email.

Students demanding results urgently

The court was informed that many students have mailed the university, asking them to declare the result urgently as some of them are seeking admissions in foreign universities. The varsity has said that the result for PG students seeking admission overseas will be declared by September 28.

The varsity has also stated that postgraduate students who want their results urgently can send in the requested for the same till September 18. The result will be provisional in nature, the varsity further stated.

The result of these students will be declared on the official web portal of Delhi University and the provisional certificates of the students in final year UG programmes will be mailed to their respective foreign universities.

The Delhi High Court has further adjourned the matter of result declaration till September 23 for the university to provide the court with a firm date for the declaration of the result for the final year UG and PG students.
